Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Cat6 and Cat6A?

Cat6 supports up to 1 Gbps at 100 metres. Cat6A supports 10 Gbps at the same distance. For most homes, Cat6 is sufficient; for businesses or future-proofing, Cat6A is worth the small upcharge.

Can you eliminate Wi-Fi dead zones without running new cables?

In some cases, mesh Wi-Fi access points can help. But for reliable coverage in concrete or brick construction common in Metro Vancouver, a wired access point backhaul is the only true fix.

Can you install networking in a condo with concrete walls?

Yes. Concrete is a common challenge in BC condos. We use core drilling, surface conduit, or strategic AP placement to get signal everywhere within strata rules.

Do you install network racks and patch panels?

Yes. We install and terminate full structured cabling systems including patch panels, wall plates, and rack-mounted equipment.

Will my smart home devices still work during the cabling install?

Yes. We plan the work to minimize downtime. For most jobs, your internet is only offline for the time it takes to patch the final connections.
